Valentine’s day

Standard

I love Valentines day! it’s one of my favorite days of the year. I believe that Valentine’s day should not just be a one day thing, but we should shower our family and friends with love everyday.

I usually spend most of my day dreaming and praying about the future and of course listening to my Valentine’s Day playlist. So I have decided to share with you some of the songs on the playlist.

To the couples, have an awesome day showering love on each other. To the singles, have a fabulous day loving yourself and the folks around you, hide your love away and get your white boots ready!

And most importantly let’s not forget the one who gave us life and the reason to love…God.

JOHN 15:12 (KJV)
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

MATTHEW 22:37-39 (KJV)
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I’ll also be tweeting the rest of my playlist, so follow me on twitter @unicalasa and don’t forget to like my Facebook Page

Praying For You – Mandisa

When God Made You – Newsong feat. Natalie Grant

Speak Life

Standard

When you spoke this morning, did your words have life? Did they lift someone’s spirit up or did they bring it down

Words have tremendous power on people and even on ourselves. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21: The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (NIV)

You can change your world by changing your words… Remember, death and life are in the power of the tongue. – Joel Osteen

So speak life or don’t speak at all!

Two songs come to mind when talking about the power of the tongue: ‘Speak Life’ – Tobymac and Words – Hawk Nelson feat Bart Millard (of MercyMe)

Enjoy the song, let me know what you think and share with me your favorite lyric. You can follow me on twitter @unicalasa and like my facebook page. Be sure to check in tomorrow, I’ll be sharing with you my Valentine’s Day playlist! You guys are awesome!

“Lift your head a little higher,
Spread the love like fire,
Hope will fall like rain,
When you speak life with the words you say.”

Speak Life – Tobymac

“Words can build us up
Words can break us down
Start a fire in our hearts or put it out”

Words – Hawk Nelson

Imela

Standard

Today is worship Sunday and I want to share with you my current favorite NIgerian worship song, Imela (Thank You) by Nathaniel Bassey. I hope you guys have a wonderful day in church as we worship our God, Father and Friend, thanking him for his continual blessings in our lives. God Bless.

The Truth About Me

Standard

We are loved, no matter who we are or what we’ve done. Not just because our family and friends love us, but because the one who gave us life loves us.
It’s that simple and yet easily forgotten. We often look for the complex and hard things, but forget that God is often in the simplest of things.

But imagine if we wake up everyday knowing that God loves us.
Imagine if we see ourselves through the eyes of the creator.
Imagine if we see everyone we come in contact with through the eyes of the one who created them.
I truly believe it will start off a love revolution…the love of God.
So let’s not forget these little things

The song ‘The Truth about Me’ from Grammy award artist Mandisa (who is one of my favourite artists) is a very good reminder about the way God sees us.
I love the bridge which says:
“I would sleep better at night
Wake up with hope for another day
I would love even if it costs me
Take a chance and know I’m gonna be okay
I would dare to give my life away….
It would change EVERYTHING if only I believed the truth about me”

Grace

Standard

Just heard this quote
“What the law required, grace fulfilled”
It reminded me of the song ‘How He Loves’ – Kim Walker. I especially love Anthony Evan’s version.
My favourite lyrics are
“If grace is an ocean, we all are sinking”
“I don’t have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way He loves us”
So grateful for God’s grace and his love.
Listen and enjoy the rest of your day knowing that you are loved.

What other songs come to mind concerning the grace of God? Please share.

Welcome!

Hi Guys!

I’m Eunice and the first thing you need to know about me is that I love Music! I think music is generally awesome. It’s a great way to express ourselves and what we feel. Music centered around the Creator of the Universe, God, is even more awesome and beautiful.

I grew up watching the Gaither Homecoming Videos and my Dad particularly loved Jesse Dixon. I have fond childhood memories of singing the different Gaither songs at home, in the car and at church. It was from there my love for music grew.

My goal for this blog is to talk about our favorite songs centered the creator. We’ll be featuring songs  from The Gaither Vocal Band, Frank Edwards, Royal Tailor, Casting Crowns, Mandisa, Sammie Okposo and many more! I’ll also be reviewing albums and will be bringing you the latest concerning Christian Music.

So please stay tuned and don’t forget to comment,

Thanks and God Bless!
